Trees for bugs

I’m loving this initiative from Kentico – 41, no 42, no 46 trees to go in so far a number which I am sure I will have to update before we publish this issue (and I did, we’re up to 50 now!).

It’s become a bit of a contest on all fronts, with the in-house Kentico developers competing for who’ll plant the least trees meaning their parts have the least bugs. According to Petr Passingr from Kentico, there’s Mr Bug-Free with only 5 trees to plant and a budding environmentalist that heads up the pack with 13 trees to plant.

What’s more, the initiative has come somewhat of an international bug Olympics, which the US having spotted the most bugs so far with 12, closely followed by the UK with 11 and my motherland Australia taking up third with 5 bugs reported.

The trees will be planted on Saturday 7 November in the Czech village of Snovidky, with the species of trees selected with the purpose to restore vegetation in the area.

Keep your eye out for a coming issue of Kentico Developer which will include a full length feature on the Trees for Bugs initiative and the planting of the trees.
